100 x 100 cm deep
Acrylic, gesso, graphite and collage on canvas.
"The painting of the Fruit bowl is painted on canvas, with Japanese fabric and sheets from a 1950s housewife manual, with layers of dress making paper. The drawing is simply made, sketched with liquid graphite and briefly painted with acrylic. The overall impression is joyful, naive and has a nod to folk art.
Using fabric, sewing patterns and housewife book pages there is a clear tongue in cheek nod to domesticity and 'women's work' which is a running theme I often revisit in my work." Pam Glew.
