Rob’s current work explores a personal form of self-portraiture — whether through faces or objects that hold meaning for him. Shaped by queer experience, the works strive to capture emotions we all share in common and ultimately speak to the universal act of being alive.
Rob was born in Bournemouth in 1981 and studied at Oxford University. He lived in Germany for 20 years, and holds British and German citizenship. He is a self-taught artist based at his studio in Muswell Hill, North London. His previous exhibitions include solo and group shows in Berlin, Hamburg and London.
